I am not a huge fan of the Electoral College. To me it comes back to the issue of placing equality of the states. In the office of POTUS, I think of our President should be as concerned with issues in Nebraska or South Dakota as he/she would be say as California. Realistically, I think it is like 13 delegate rich states that could determine who our president is. Take California for instance. 55 delegates. You could take all the delegates from ND, SD, MT, ID, NE, OK, KS, IA, MO and would not equal that of California. Pretty much the entire heartland does not even come close to delegate count that some of the more liberal east/west coast states. Think of it as if we were a group of 50 people and decided to go into a room to select a leader for our group, I would like to think that my vote would be as equally important as the person sitting next to me. In this case the 50 people are the same as 50 states. If 2/3 rds of our country believe in a certain direction our country should take. I believe the leader that the majority's voice needs to be represented proportionately. Not a leader selected by the 1/3rd of the delegate more liberal states.
